uBlock origin makes that problem go away.
I’ve not heard a single thing here in Finland that any governmental or related entity would be moving away from MS.
Prices mysteriously go up about a week before prime day sales, then drop to a few dollars below normal, scream “39% off” and you feel like you beat the system.
Gladly this practice is illegal in Finland at lest. Here companies having sales have to show the lowest price of that product within the last 30 days just for this very reason.
That’s usually the answer to these kind of questions.
Mine too.
Businesses can’t be expected to indefinitely support a piece of technology for free.
Of course not but they themselves announced long ago that win10 will be EOL’d in October 2025. Then later they announced that you can buy extra support for plenty and increasing amounts of money. And now this.
Though even longer ago they announced that win10 will be the last windows ever.
So windows 10 isn’t EOL’d in October 2025 after all.
Happened to have a SearX instance configured as a search engine in my LibreWolf. Did a test search and uBlock origin blocks zero things. So that is a privacy friedly no tracking search engine.
Was about to post the same. A privacy focused no tracking search engine should have zero of anything uBlock origin would block. If uBlock blocks trackers then it’s not “no tracking” nor “privacy-focused”.
Good riddance. It was never about privacy anyhow. Only to enhance google’s monopoly in ads.
Tumbleweed is already on 6.15.
Would have used sopuli.xyz but they weren’t taking registrations at that time.
Aurora is just an anonymous front-end to google play store.
Very good article. Thanks OP for posting.
“Microsoft is dedicated to strengthening innovation, competitiveness and cybersecurity in Europe”. So? MS is still an American company.
Just checked. At least the windows installer on their website is for v138. And their rpm repo is at 138 as well. I’m using an unofficial build due to it not being available in Tumbleweed repos and that version is at 137.
The feature is in FF 138 and LibreWolf is at 137.
The correct way for Finnish is: Osta eurooppalaista. Though if you want to say “you should buy European” (that’s how I’d interpret the original intent) then you’d say: Ostathan eurooppalaista. The first one is more of a demand then a recommendation.
Couldn’t be happier with them. They just work and announce ahead of time about any maintenance. Have a storage box from them for backups and a vps for other uses. I do my backups with pika-backup (a borg frontend).
