You can get an AMD APU with a NN-inference-optimized tile for under 200.

Training can be done with any relatively modern GPU, with varying efficiency and capacity depending on how much you want to spend.

What price point are you trying to hit?

From a tariff perspective, that’s true.

From a “where does the money go” perspective, that is not true.

So: yeah, it’s better than buying a straight up American import, but buying a product fully independent of any US process, service, component, transit, assembly, etc is better.
