1. It has more up to date packages (while being reasonably stable), their implementation of gnome is essentially vanilla so its easier to build off of as a base (unless you like Ubuntus extensions and fonts but tbh you can always add those yourself)
2. Their KDE edition (starting from the recently released version 42) is no longer a spin so it should get as much attention as Workstation (Gnome)
3. DNF is arguably much better than APT and especially with the new improvements its seen
4. Fedora handles snapshots much better (btrfs)
5. There are more extensive third party repos on fedora
6. They dont shove snaps down your throat

I was referring to Fairphones stock android build, GraphineOS is extremely secure. Thats why GraphineOS doesn’t support Fairphone. Specifically there are advanced low level security issues on the Fairphone that cannot be fixed with an OS.

The answer is likley never, GOS devs dont trust Fairphone devs (due to poor security practices) and Fairphone devs are unwilling (in some cases unable) to meet the extremely high standards for GOS.

There is no way for them to do that, GOS requires a security chip with a standard only Google meets atm. For Fairphone to meet GOS requirements not only would they need to improve their security but they would need to build several custom chips (that are not cheap nor easy to design).

I personally use a Pixel 9 with GraphineOS, I would love to use a fairphone however they desperately need to get themselves together and improve security significantly.

GraphineOS hasnt been a company since they split off from copperheados and rebreanded to GraphineOS, they have no budget to maintain more phones. In addition Fairphone has a long history of severe security problems, using publically available keys for verified boot, having a broken implementation of verified boot, delaying critical security updates, not providing all promised updates, and not having the hardware security features that GraphineOS demands. Heres the thing, GraphineOS is the most secure mobile OS because they dont compromise on security. Putting GraphineOS on the fairphone would require watering it down so much that it wouldn’t truly be GraphineOS anymore.

Not really, but I am sick and tired of Wikipedia haters constantly using every tiny mistake to prove “Wikipedia cant be trusted”. Granted they still use the age old lie of “anyone can edit it” and “nobody moderates it”.

It only takes a single incident like this for people to completely loose trust in Wikipedia, granted Wikipedia was already put to an insanely unreasonable standard.
