They’d have to install it first.

So, if a computer is bicycle for the mind, llm can be viewed as combustion engine and the chatbot interface as a car. Hallucinations are accidents that can kill you (i.e. if you follow regurgitated reddit troll as health advice) and your mind’s muscles are wasting away.
This one is different, it starts enshittified and enshittifies further
I don’t use any of it, neither Telegram or LLMs
The users must ask themselves if they’re the product, fucking Musk is paying for access to them.
trying to get our friends to jump ship to a new alternative
People keep saying this, but the problem is even those who know better keep Whatsapp installed alongside Signal. Trying means leaving Zuckerberg’s messenger and notifying your friends you’re only on Signal from now on. I did that and even my pre-boomer parents now use Signal.
they already have a working app that does what they need.
Not if they need to contact me.
Ublock Origin in a Firefox fork and PipePipe with Sponsorblock on mobile. I’m perfectly ready to just export/delete my Youtube account and move on if it stops working.
Fucking Perplexity can’t give away licenses. T-mobile is giving Perplexity AI Pro licenses for free (to subscribers), they advertise it as if it’s something worth something, it’s hilarious. Then obviously not many users took the bait because they sent a mass e-mail (from the University) to all of the faculty giving all employees (not just teaching personnel) these valuable Perplexity AI Pro licenses, only hurry up because there’s only 20k of these and it’s first come first served. Still haven’t used their shit and actually don’t know anyone who does.
There’s literally not enough shit to do for everyone, some basic existance allowance is not a charity, it’s good for all of society.
“For personal users, this SSD can store 11,000 90-minute 4K movies,”
This is less useful than libraries of congress.
One of my favorite Deck games is Snowrunner. It drains the battery quickly, but it looks and plays amazing with 45fps lock
OSMand is the best, it’s FLOSS and the foundation that publishes it is UK-based. It also needs no cloud services and no internet access once you download the maps, which are freely available public data.
I was fully expecting that, but since enshittification recently intensified (Android 15’s bluetooth settings are a giant step back in usability), neither google play nor system in general nor anything from motorola has internet access on my phone, I send everything through RethinkVPN (from f-droid) and block all internet access except for apps that I explicitly allow. I’m just not updating anything except periodically Signal, IronFox and PipePipe.
