Quick and incomplete summary: In recent years Lidl invested heavily in cyber security and cloud computing, first for their own independent infrastructure, but they’re already selling their security and cloud services to other big companies. The video makes the point that eventually they could become a proper competition for Amazon AWS and other services.
Having used some of their, admittedly older, “bespoke warehouse management systems” we’re fucking doomed.
Was that before or after their “digitalization” offensive? Apparently the old CEO was fired after like a hundred years of running the company because he opposed anything technology and apparently didn’t even own a computer himself, the new one did very sharp turnaround according to the video.
Admittedly it was before, during and just after they threw half a billion euros away trying and failing to introduce SAP.

Yikes, SAP transitions can be absolute shite but turning back around after being half a billion into the slide must’ve hurt.
